Peter really knew his stuff and quickly had a few ideas to get us on our feet (we were in dire straits) he took the time and initiative to get to understand us and the direction of our business. One job at a time we started measuring everything, “if you can’t measure it, it doesn’t exist!” gross profit being the main focus and making sure the correct percentages were to be made from the quoting process all the way through to the delivery and then going back through our hours, direct costs ect. and re-measuring to ensure GP (gross profit) was always met, my goodness what a difference this made! Jobs where I would cut my price to get the job, I found I didn’t make my minimum GP so essentially I did a job for nothing, not even a wage!
Holding us responsible for not meeting our GP or not meeting our monthly minimum turnover during our monthly meetings was really tough but what we needed for our own commitment and growth of our business. It was and still is great to have someone helping you to reach your goals and not just relying on pushing yourself.
Peter really is a pleasure to work with and has really helped us to focus on our business in a way that only an outsider could have done. We could still be stuck in the same rut we were only a year ago but we are well on the way to keeping a very successful business. Peter has gone above and beyond our expectations and is not just a business partner but a lot more personal.
